Obituary of Leah Marie Rondon

RONDON – Leah Marie Rondon, age 6 of Ansonia, cherished daughter of Henry and Colleen McGrath Rondon of Ansonia, died August 20, 2015 at Griffin Hospital with her family by her side. Born in Derby on January 30, 2009, she was a lifelong resident of Ansonia. Leah was a Kindergarten Graduate of John C. Mead School of Ansonia and attended the Valley YMCA Preschool. She was active in Ansonia Soccer, Basketball and Softball Leagues and was the Ansonia Boys and Girls Club “2015 Girl of the Year”. She loved to read and proudly listed all her conquered summer titles on the family refrigerator. An ambitious student, Leah was excited to attend first grade in the fall, ride the school bus and partake in all the excitement of grammar school. In addition to her parents, she leaves her devoted big brothers, Henry and Samuel C. Rondon of Ansonia; maternal grandparents, Patrick M. and Maryellen Fennell McGrath of New Hampshire; paternal grandparents, Luis and Maria Rodriguez Rondon of NYC; several aunts, uncles and cousins; as well as her many friends. A Mass of Christian Burial, meeting directly at church, will be Celebrated on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at 10:00 AM in the Church of the Assumption, 61 N. Cliff St., Ansonia. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Derby. Family and friends may call at the Church of the Assumption on Monday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to John C. Mead School Library, 75 Ford Street, Ansonia, CT 06401, Ansonia Boys & Girls Club, 28 Howard Avenue, Ansonia, CT 06401, or Ansonia Recreation Department, 253 Main Street, Ansonia, CT 06401.
