Obituary of Antoinette C. Fotion

Antoinette “Ginny” Cipolla Fotion, age 93 of Ansonia, beloved wife of the late Raymond J. Fotion, died peacefully on April 9, 2015 at Griffin Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was born in the home of her grandparents, in Harrison, NY, the sixth child of sixteen, to parents Frank and Tessie Caparella Cipolla. Mrs. Fotion was a longtime resident of Ansonia, and Communicant of the Church of the Assumption. Manna Program at TEAM, The Rosary Society, Catholic Daughters of America, and Catholic Family Services all appreciated her active memberships. She worked for twenty-five years as an executive secretary at Emhart Corporation in Shelton. She dedicated her life to her family, and many lifelong friends, and will always be remembered for her genuine willingness to participate in life’s adventures. She is survived by her two sons, Raymond J. Fotion, Jr. of Newbury, VT, and Richard Fotion and wife, Marianne, her loving daughter in law, of Southbury. Her extended family also included her eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grand child and dozens of nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband of 23 years, she was predeceased by 15 brothers and sisters. Funeral services will take place on Monday, April 13, 2015 at 9:00 AM from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:00 AM in the Church of the Assumption, 61 N. Cliff St., Ansonia. Interment will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery, Derby.
